Vallabhbhai Patel was born to Jhaverbhai Patel, a farmer, and his wife, Ladbai, in Nadiad, a small town in Gujarat. He was the fourth of six children, and his family belonged to the Leuva Patel Patidar community. Patel attended primary school in Karamsad, where his father worked as a village headmaster. He then went on to attend high school in Petlad and completed his matriculation in 1897.
After completing his high school education, Vallabhbhai Patel moved to England to study law. He worked and studied hard, and was called to the bar in 1910. He returned to India and started practicing law in Ahmedabad, where he soon became known for his legal expertise and his commitment to the nationalist cause.
Freedom Struggle:

The Government of India has established several institutions and programs in Vallabhbhai Patel's honor, including the Sardar Patel National Memorial, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, and the Sardar Patel University. In 2018, the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, was unveiled in Gujarat as a tribute to Vallabhbhai Patel.
