Chandrababu Naidu (born 1950)

Chandrababu Naidu is an Indian politician who was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019. He was born on April 20, 1950, in Naravaripalle village in Andhra Pradesh, India. He is the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and is known for his contributions to the development of Andhra Pradesh.

Early Life and Education:

Chandrababu Naidu was born to a farmer, N. Kharjura Naidu, and Ammannama in a small village called Naravaripalle in Andhra Pradesh. He completed his schooling in his hometown and went on to receive a degree in commerce from Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati. After completing his education, he joined the family business and worked in the agricultural sector.

Political Career:

Chandrababu Naidu began his political career in 1978 when he was elected as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Chandragiri constituency. He went on to serve as a minister in the state government under the leadership of N.T. Rama Rao. In 1995, he became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after N.T. Rama Rao's death. He served as the Chief Minister until 2004.

During his tenure as Chief Minister, Naidu implemented several policies and initiatives to improve the infrastructure and development of the state. He focused on attracting foreign investment, improving the education system, and developing the information technology sector in Andhra Pradesh. Under his leadership, the state's economy grew rapidly, and Andhra Pradesh became one of the fastest-growing states in India.

In 2004, Naidu's party, the Telugu Desam Party, lost the elections, and he was defeated in his own constituency. He then served as the Leader of Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 2004 to 2014.

In 2014, the Telugu Desam Party formed an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the state elections. Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the second time. During his second term as Chief Minister, he continued to focus on the development of the state and implemented several new policies and initiatives.

In 2018, Naidu's party withdrew its support from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the center. The move was in response to the center's refusal to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh. Naidu then became a vocal critic of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the 2019 state elections, the Telugu Desam Party lost to the YSR Congress Party, and Naidu resigned as Chief Minister. He continues to serve as the President of the Telugu Desam Party.

  2. Focus on Agriculture: Naidu implemented several policies to improve the agricultural sector in Andhra Pradesh. He introduced the 'Zero Budget Natural Farming' initiative, which promotes chemical-free farming and uses natural fertilizers and pesticides. He also established the 'Rythu Bharosa' scheme, which provides financial assistance to farmers.
