Mohd Arshad Khan

Mohd Arshad Khan is a former Indian cricketer who played for the Indian cricket team in the 1990s. He was a right-arm off-spinner and a lower-order batsman who represented India in 2 Tests and 23 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Khan was also a part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Early Life and Domestic Career:

Mohd Arshad Khan was born on 5th October 1971 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He started playing cricket at a young age and made his debut in first-class cricket for Uttar Pradesh in the 1990-91 season. He was a consistent performer for Uttar Pradesh and picked up 41 wickets in his debut season. He played for Uttar Pradesh for 10 seasons and picked up 276 wickets in 73 first-class matches at an average of 29.91. He also scored 2007 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 20.07.

International Career:

Mohd Arshad Khan made his debut for India in a One Day International against Zimbabwe in 1993. He played 23 ODIs for India between 1993 and 1997 and picked up 25 wickets at an average of 37.52. His best performance came against Sri Lanka in 1994 when he picked up 3 wickets for 34 runs. Khan also played 2 Test matches for India, both against South Africa in 1996. He picked up 5 wickets in those two Tests at an average of 47.40.

IPL Career:

Mohd Arshad Khan was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. He played 14 matches in the tournament and picked up 11 wickets at an average of 29.45. His best performance in the tournament came against the Mumbai Indians when he picked up 3 wickets for 27 runs.

In the second season of the IPL, Khan played 12 matches for the Rajasthan Royals and picked up 8 wickets at an average of 37.75. His best performance in the tournament came against the Kolkata Knight Riders when he picked up 2 wickets for 16 runs.

In the third season of the IPL, Khan played only one match for the Rajasthan Royals and did not pick up any wickets. He was released by the franchise after that season.

Mohd Arshad Khan was a consistent performer for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. He played for India in 2 Test matches and 23 ODIs but could not establish himself as a regular member of the team.
