Rahmanullah Gurbaz
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a young and talented wicket-keeper batsman from Afghanistan who has made a name for himself in the cricketing world in a very short span of time. Gurbaz was born on 20th December 2002 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. He started playing cricket at a very young age and soon became a part of the under-19 team of Afghanistan.
Early Career:
Gurbaz made his List A debut for Mis Ainak Region in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament in 2017. He scored a half-century in the very first match he played and continued to impress in the tournament. He was then selected to play for the under-19 team of Afghanistan and he made his debut against Pakistan under-19s in December 2017.
In February 2018, Gurbaz made his first-class debut for Mis Ainak Region in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. He scored a brilliant century in the very first match he played and went on to score another century in the tournament.
IPL Career:
Rahmanullah Gurbaz made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in the 2020 season for the Rajasthan Royals. He was bought by the franchise for INR 1.3 crore at the 2020 IPL auction.
Gurbaz played his first match for the Rajasthan Royals against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in October 2020. He opened the innings for the team and scored a quickfire 17 off just 8 balls. In his second match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he played a match-winning knock of 53 off just 48 balls. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his performance.
In the 2021 season, Gurbaz played only one match for the Rajasthan Royals before he was dropped from the team due to poor form. He scored just 6 runs in the match against the Chennai Super Kings.
