Sandeep Warrier
Sandeep Warrier is an Indian cricketer who is known for his right-arm medium-fast bowling style. He was born on April 4, 1991, in Thrissur, Kerala, India. Warrier started his cricketing journey by playing for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy. He made his debut in 2012-13 and has been a consistent performer for Kerala ever since.
IPL Career:
Sandeep Warrier made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2013 when he was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise. However, he did not get a chance to play in any of the matches that season. In the following year, he was again picked up by RCB but only played one match for them.
In 2015, Sandeep Warrier was signed up by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He played just one match that season, but he was retained by the team for the following year. In 2016, he played four matches for KKR, and although he did not pick up any wickets, he bowled economically, conceding just 6.75 runs per over.
In the 2017 season, Warrier was not retained by KKR, but he was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, he did not get a chance to play in any of the matches that season. In 2018, he was again signed by KKR but did not get to play any matches that season.
In 2019, Sandeep Warrier was signed up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a replacement for the injured Lungi Ngidi. He made his debut for CSK against the Kings XI Punjab and picked up one wicket in his four overs, conceding just 34 runs. Warrier played just one more match for CSK that season and finished with two wickets in two matches.
In 2020, Sandeep Warrier was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders again. However, he did not get to play any matches that season. In the 2021 season, he was signed up by the Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement player for the injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He played three matches that season, picking up two wickets at an average of 25.50 and an economy rate of 8.5.
Overall, Sandeep Warrier has played just nine matches in the IPL, picking up four wickets at an average of 32.25 and an economy rate of 8.59. He has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore franchises but has played the most number of matches for KKR.
Domestic Career:
Sandeep Warrier made his debut for Kerala in the 2012-13 season of the Ranji Trophy. He made an immediate impact, picking up six wickets in his debut match against Andhra Pradesh. Warrier has been a consistent performer for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy, picking up 186 wickets in 62 matches at an average of 23.44.
Warrier has also played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Indian domestic T20 competition. He has picked up 47 wickets in 44 matches at an average of 23.44 and an economy rate of 7.23.
Apart from playing for Kerala, Sandeep Warrier has also played for India A. He was a part of the India A squad that toured New Zealand in 2020. Warrier picked up five wickets in two matches on that tour.
First-Class Career
Sandeep Warrier made his first-class debut for Kerala in 2012 in a Ranji Trophy match against Hyderabad. In his debut match, he took two wickets in the first innings and followed it up with another two-wicket haul in the second innings. Since then, he has been a regular member of the Kerala team in domestic cricket.
In his first-class career so far, Sandeep Warrier has played 59 matches and has taken 186 wickets at an average of 23.50. His best bowling figures in a match are 7 for 52, which he achieved against Hyderabad in 2019. He has also taken five-wicket hauls on 10 occasions in his first-class career.
List-A Career
Sandeep Warrier made his List-A debut for Kerala in 2012 in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Karnataka. In his debut match, he took one wicket for 47 runs in his 10 overs. He has been a regular member of the Kerala team in List-A cricket ever since.
In his List-A career so far, Sandeep Warrier has played 57 matches and has taken 70 wickets at an average of 28.41. His best bowling figures in a match are 5 for 36, which he achieved against Himachal Pradesh in 2014.
T20 Career
Apart from playing in the IPL, Sandeep Warrier has also played in other T20 leagues around the world. He has played for the Winnipeg Hawks in the Global T20 Canada and for the Montreal Tigers in the Caribbean Premier League. He has also played for the Kerala Kings in the T10 League.
