Shams Mulani

Shams Mulani is an Indian cricketer who was born on July 7, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Mulani made his debut in first-class cricket for Mumbai in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season. Since then, he has become a regular member of the Mumbai team and has also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Early Career:

Shams Mulani started playing cricket at a young age and was a part of the Mumbai under-16 team. He then progressed to the under-19 level and played for the Mumbai team in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Mulani's impressive performances in domestic cricket caught the attention of the Mumbai Indians franchise, and he was picked up by them in the 2018 IPL auction.

IPL Career:

Shams Mulani made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2018 against Delhi Daredevils. He did not get a chance to bat in that match but bowled two overs and conceded 17 runs without taking a wicket. Mulani played only one match in that season and did not feature in the playing XI again.

In the 2019 IPL season, Mulani played two matches for Mumbai Indians. He bowled a total of four overs and conceded 29 runs without taking a wicket. Mulani did not get a chance to bat in either of the matches.

In the 2020 IPL season, Mulani played three matches for Mumbai Indians. He scored 11 runs in two innings with a highest score of 10 not out. Mulani bowled a total of six overs and conceded 50 runs without taking a wicket. Despite his lack of wickets, Mulani was praised for his economical bowling and his ability to keep the run rate under control.

In the 2021 IPL season, Mulani played only one match for Mumbai Indians. He bowled three overs and conceded 28 runs without taking a wicket. Mulani did not get a chance to bat in that match.

First-Class Career:

Shams Mulani made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season. He played six matches in his debut season and took 11 wickets at an average of 32.27. Mulani's best bowling figures in an innings in that season were 4/100.

In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season, Mulani played nine matches and took 22 wickets at an average of 27.77. His best bowling figures in an innings in that season were 4/57.

In the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season, Mulani played eight matches and took 36 wickets at an average of 19.97. He also scored 372 runs in 14 innings at an average of 31. Mulani's best bowling figures in an innings in that season were 5/31.

In the 2020-21 Ranji Trophy season, Mulani played five matches and took 16 wickets at an average of 29.81. He also scored 179 runs in eight innings at an average of 35.80. Mulani's best bowling figures in an innings in that season were 5/50.

Mulani's consistent performances in domestic cricket have earned him a place in the Mumbai team as a regular member. He has also been a part of the India A squad and has played in the Deodhar Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
