Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube is an Indian cricketer who plays as an all-rounder for the Indian cricket team and various franchise teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Born on June 26, 1993, in Mumbai, Shivam Dube is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He made his debut for Mumbai in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy season and since then has been a consistent performer for his state team. He was then picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2019 IPL auctions for a whopping Rs. 5 crore, which was 25 times his base price.

IPL Career:

Shivam Dube made his IPL debut for RCB in the 2019 season and played in 4 matches, scoring 40 runs and picking up 4 wickets. However, he was not able to make much of an impact and was released by RCB ahead of the 2020 season. He was then picked by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the 2020 season and played in all 14 matches for the franchise. Dube scored 129 runs and picked up 5 wickets in the tournament, with his best performance coming against the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he scored 22 runs off just 7 balls and picked up 2 wickets in the same over.

For the 2021 IPL season, Shivam Dube was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) once again, this time for a much lower price of Rs. 4.4 crore. He played in 13 matches for the franchise and scored 145 runs at a strike rate of 130.63. He also picked up 4 wickets in the tournament, with his best performance coming against the Kolkata Knight Riders where he scored an unbeaten 22 off just 14 balls and picked up the crucial wicket of Nitish Rana.

Domestic Career:

Shivam Dube made his domestic debut for Mumbai in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy season and has since been a consistent performer for the team. He played a crucial role in Mumbai's victory in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 218 runs and picking up 10 wickets in the tournament. In the same year, he also played a crucial role in Mumbai's victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 155 runs and picking up 4 wickets in the tournament. He was named as the 'Player of the Match' in the final of both the tournaments.

International Career:

Shivam Dube made his international debut for India in a T20I match against Bangladesh in November 2019. He scored 1 run and picked up a wicket in the match. He has since played in 1 more T20I match and 1 ODI match for India.

Conclusion:

Shivam Dube is a promising all-rounder who has shown a lot of potential in his domestic and IPL career so far. He has the ability to score quick runs in the lower order and also pick up crucial wickets with his medium-fast bowling. However, he needs to be more consistent with his performances and work on his fitness to become a regular member of the Indian cricket team. With age on his side, Shivam Dube has a lot of time to improve and establish himself as a reliable all-rounder in the Indian team.
