Narayanan Jagadeesan, commonly known as N Jagadeesan, is an Indian cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper and a right-handed batsman. Born on December 24, 1995, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Jagadeesan started playing cricket at a young age and has made a name for himself in the domestic circuit. Domestic Career:

Jagadeesan made his debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, where he scored a half-century in his very first match against Mumbai. He continued to perform well and scored 687 runs in his debut season, including a century against Tripura. Jagadeesan's performances earned him a spot in the Tamil Nadu team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2017, where he scored a century against Gujarat. In the 2018–19 season, Jagadeesan was appointed as the captain of the Tamil Nadu team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and he led the team to the final.

Jagadeesan has also played for India A, where he scored an unbeaten 101 against South Africa A in 2019. He has been a consistent performer for Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit and has scored over 2,000 runs in List A matches at an average of over 40.

IPL Career:

Jagadeesan was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2018 auction for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. He was with the team for two seasons but did not get an opportunity to play until the 2020 season. In the 2020 season, he was included in the playing XI in the absence of the regular wicket-keeper, MS Dhoni, and made his IPL debut against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

In his debut match, Jagadeesan scored an impressive 33 off 28 balls and was praised for his batting performance. He continued to impress in the next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he scored an unbeaten 33 off 28 balls and helped the team chase down the target of 173. Jagadeesan's performances earned him the "Emerging Player of the Match" award in both the matches.

Jagadeesan played a total of 5 matches in the 2020 season, where he scored 33, 33*, 0, 6, and 10 runs, respectively. He was also involved in 4 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. Despite his impressive performances, Jagadeesan did not get many opportunities to play in the 2021 season, as the team had the likes of MS Dhoni, Robin Uthappa, and Ambati Rayudu as wicket-keeping options.

Other Achievements:

Apart from his domestic and IPL career, Jagadeesan has also been a part of the India U-23 team, where he played in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in 2017. He has been a consistent performer for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and has helped the team reach the finals twice.
