Finn Allen
Finn Allen is a young and exciting cricketer from New Zealand who has made a name for himself in the cricketing world with his aggressive batting style and his ability to score runs quickly. He was born on April 22, 1999, in Auckland, New Zealand. Allen is a right-handed batsman who can also keep wickets. He made his debut for the New Zealand Under-19 team in 2017 and has since gone on to play for various domestic teams in New Zealand.
Early Career:
Finn Allen started playing cricket at a young age and showed great promise from an early age. He made his debut for Auckland in the 2017-18 season of the Super Smash and went on to play in the New Zealand Under-19 team. In the same season, he also made his debut for New Zealand A. He scored his first century in domestic cricket in 2019 when he scored an unbeaten 116 against Otago in the Super Smash.
IPL Career:
Finn Allen made his IPL debut in 2021 when he was signed up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was bought for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. In his first season in the IPL, Allen played in only one match, where he scored 1 run off 2 balls. However, he was retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2022 season.
In the 2022 IPL season, Finn Allen got more opportunities to play and he did not disappoint. He played in 10 matches and scored 202 runs at an average of 22.44 and a strike rate of 179.64. He hit 17 sixes in the tournament, which was the fourth-highest number of sixes hit by any player in the tournament. Allen's best performance in the tournament came in a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders where he scored 76 runs off just 39 balls.
Domestic Career:
Finn Allen has played for various domestic teams in New Zealand, including Auckland, Northern Districts, and Wellington. He has been a regular member of the Auckland team since making his debut in the 2017-18 season of the Super Smash. In the 2020-21 season of the Super Smash, Allen was the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, scoring 512 runs at an average of 56.88 and a strike rate of 193.18. He hit 34 sixes in the tournament, which was the highest number of sixes hit by any player in the tournament.
In the 2020-21 season of the Plunket Shield, Finn Allen scored 512 runs in 10 matches at an average of 36.57. He hit 4 half-centuries in the tournament, with a highest score of 92. He was also a part of the Northern Districts team that won the 2020-21 Super Smash title.
International Career:
Finn Allen made his international debut for New Zealand in March 2021, in a T20I against Bangladesh. He scored 71 runs off just 29 balls in the match, which was the highest score by a New Zealand debutant in T20Is. He followed this up with another impressive innings in his second T20I, where he scored 29 runs off just 16 balls.
In April 2021, Finn Allen was named in the New Zealand squad for the T20I series against Australia. He played in all five matches of the series and scored 66 runs at an average of 22.00 and a strike rate of 144.44. His highest score in the series was 30 runs.
