Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror is an Indian cricketer born on November 16, 1999, in Nagaur, Rajasthan. He is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Lomror made his first-class debut for Rajasthan in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy season at the age of 16. He has since represented Rajasthan in domestic cricket and has been a part of the Rajasthan Royals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

First-Class and List A Career:

Mahipal Lomror made his first-class debut for Rajasthan against Jammu and Kashmir in November 2015. He scored 63 runs in the match, which was his first innings in the format. He played two more matches in the same season, scoring 49 runs in total. He played his first List A match in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored an unbeaten 46 runs against Jharkhand. Lomror has played 32 first-class matches so far and has scored 1623 runs at an average of 32.46, including three centuries and nine fifties. He has also taken 29 wickets at an average of 47.89. In List A cricket, Lomror has played 22 matches and has scored 563 runs at an average of 35.18 and a strike rate of 91.45, including four fifties.

IPL Career:

Mahipal Lomror was first picked up by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2018 IPL auction for INR 20 lakh. He made his IPL debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 18, 2018, in Jaipur. He scored 11 runs and picked up a wicket in the match, which RR won by 7 wickets. Lomror played five matches in his debut season, scoring 71 runs at an average of 17.75 and a strike rate of 125.93. He also picked up two wickets at an average of 32.50 and an economy rate of 8.12.

Lomror was retained by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2019 IPL season, but he did not get many opportunities to play. He played only one match in the season, against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 13, 2019, in which he scored 11 runs and picked up a wicket. In the 2020 IPL season, which was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lomror played three matches and scored 47 runs at an average of 23.50 and a strike rate of 142.42. He also picked up one wicket at an average of 53.00 and an economy rate of 8.83.

In the 2021 IPL season, which was also played in the UAE, Lomror played only one match, against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 27, 2021. He scored 4 runs and did not bowl in the match.

Playing Style:

Mahipal Lomror is a versatile player who can bat anywhere in the middle order and bowl left-arm orthodox spin. He is known for his calm temperament and his ability to rotate the strike. Lomror is also a good fielder and has taken some spectacular catches in his career so far.
